CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission discovered a man's body in the Cecil M Webb Wildlife Management area Tuesday around 12:30 p.m.
Charlotte County deputies responded to the scene and identified the body as that of 77-year-old North Fort Myers resident Richard Donovan.
CCSO found Donovan's vehicle stuck in sugar sand, over a mile away from his body.
Although CCSO has not confirmed the cause of death, they say he had a cane and that there was discoloration on his chest which usually points to a cardiac episode.
CCSO says there is no threat to the public and that this investigation is not considered suspicious.
