Mark Sievers and Jimmy Rodgers now face new charges in the death of Mark's wife, Doctor Teresa Sievers.
Sievers was found bludgeoned to death inside her Bonita Springs home last year.
Her husband, Mark, was arrested after a man claiming to be an accomplice promised to testify against Mark. Curtis Wayne Wright agreed to a plea deal earlier this year.
Sievers and Rodgers were originally charged with second degree murder. But a grand jury Wednesday decided to up the charges.
Mark Sievers was indicted on First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Jimmy Ray Rodgers was indicted on First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Burglary.
Both of the defendants will now be arraigned on these new charges on Monday, May 9th. The court has ordered them to be held with no bond. They are currently in the Lee County jail.
