CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Parents and kids near Pelican Elementary got quite the surprise at school drop-off Wednesday morning. They say that around 7:40 a.m., a naked man was walking down 36th Street near Pelican Boulevard.
"When we first saw him he was walking towards us so we got a full frontal, so she sees all of that and I'm thinking oh my gosh my poor baby," said Pelican Elementary parent Marsha.
According to Marsha, who took cell phone video of the man, other parents in line were just as shocked with several cars slowing down while driving past.
The Lee County School District said although the man was never on school property, the school still notified parents through the Parentlink system.
Fox 4 talked to concerned parents and grandparents nearby at Bobbie Noonan's Child Care a few hours later.
"It's sad that whatever caused it, happened to happen around a school you know daycare here, school over there that's just sad," said grandparent Moe Beneke.
The Cape Coral Police Department said the man was suffering a medical episode. His condition has not been released.
