CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police are investigating a shots fired incident involving an armed home invasion that happened Monday night.
According to Cape Coral Police, a neighbor in the 900 block of SE 27th Terrace, reported hearing shots fired and seeing several people with flashlights entering the home next door just after 9 PM.
Officers arrived and spoke to residents in the home. Further investigation determined that two men, who are known by the residents, forced their way into the house and demanded money that was owed to them. The suspects also fired rounds into a car parked on the property.
A witness stated that the suspects possibly fled the area in a GMC Jimmy. There is no further description of the men.
Nobody was injured but there were three children inside of the house when the crime occurred. DCF was notified.
