IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- The Collier County Sheriff's Office says they're conducting a death investigation in an Immokalee neighborhood.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the 100 block of North 5th Street around 6:15am Wednesday and investigators were on scene until just before 6pm.
Investigators did not release many details, but focused their attention near the backyard porch of the home. Deputies shielded the body from bystanders with a tarp while investigators worked the scene.
One man watching the scene told Fox 4 that he was friends with the man who died. "He was my best friend, and I can't do nothing about it," said the man, who gave his name as J.D. "It hurts my feelings I don't know what happened to him."
The victim's name and cause of death were not immediately available.
