Four people were killed and a family of five were left injured after a driver ran a stop sign early Sunday morning in the Englewood area, Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened before 4 a.m. at Rosemont Drive and Sunnybrook Boulevard.

The driver of a 2002 Audi A4 ran a stop sign and collided with a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, FHP said.

All four occupants traveling in the Audi died as the car burst into flames.

The family of five from Whitesburg, Kentucky, traveling in the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries. Four were transported to the Englewood Hospital and one child was airlifted to the All Children's Hospital.

Sunnybrook Boulevard was closed but has since reopened.

This is an ongoing investigation.
