Fort Myers Fire is investigating after an abandoned boat caught fire early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. on a sailboat just off of Clint's Island. That island is in the Caloosahatchee near the US-41 bridge.
Fire crews say the boat is a total loss. However, the Fort Myers Fire Battalion Chief says no one was on board and the boat has been abandoned since before Hurricane Irma made landfall.
They are now looking for the boat's owner. There is no word on what started the fire.
