FORT MYERS, Fla. -- First responders were dispatched to a Fort Myers condo community Tuesday after a car slammed into a building there, causing a fatality.
It happened around 12:30 p.m. at the South Pointe West complex on Camelot Drive just off McGregor Boulevard.
According to Battalion Chief Barry Ashman, the driver suffered a medical emergency while driving and veered of the road towards the condo. The car hit the building and damaged three units.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 81-year-old Robert Love of Fort Myers.
