Deadly crash on Leonard Boulevard in Lehigh Acres early Monday morning

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- At least person is dead after an overnight crash in Lehigh Acres early Monday morning that left three others injured.

It happened just after midnight at the intersection of Hightower Avenue South and Leonard Boulevard South.

Florida Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Erick Rosales died on the scene.

Two passengers were in his car.  They are expected to be ok.

Troopers say Rosales was driving south on Hightower Avenue and turned left onto Leonard Boulevard into the path of a westbound SUV, which slammed into the left side of the car.

The driver of the SUV, Terrence Bright of Fort Myers, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Charges are pending.
