CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A neighborhood street was briefly closed Monday morning after a trash fire in a garbage collection truck.
It happened on SW 47th Street just off Pelican Boulevard.
Cape Coral Police say that the driver of a Waste Pro truck saw smoke coming from the back of the truck and dumped the load onto the road to avoid damage to the truck.
It's unclear what specifically caused the fire.
Crews arrived to pick up the trash and the road is open again.
