COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives are looking into how a boy that was reported missing in Cape Coral on Tuesday was found the next day over 40 miles away in another county.
Jeremias Lopez-Domingo was reported missing during a soccer practice Tuesday evening at the Cape Coral Sports Complex, where investigators were told the boy went to the bathroom and never returned.
That led to an extensive search of the area on Wednesday, including the use of K-9 and helicopter units.
It was announced late Wednesday that the boy was located and is safe. However, the Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed with Fox 4 on Thursday that he was found in Immokalee, though it is unclear how the boy traveled over 40 miles to the rural community in Collier County.
