UPDATE: The victim was identified as 3-month-old Christian Lee Reyes.

The Lee County Sheriff's office is investigating a death which spanned across two scenes Wednesday afternoon.

According to residents living at the Covered Wagon RV Park, the incident may have involved an infant. Detectives focused their attention on a tan mobile home where the infant lived.

A woman living next to the infant's mother told Four In Your Corner the child's father knocked on her door for help.

"The mother fell asleep on top of the baby and it died," said the neighbor through a translator. The witness says she tried to help the mother, but there wasn't much she could do. "He was really purple when I went and tried to help."

Witnesses say the mother left the RV park and went to the Corkscrew Shopping Village with the infant, which is across the street from their neighborhood.

This is an ongoing investigation.
