CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A Cape Coral mother is seeking answers after her child was beat up at Island Coast High School.
Sabrina Schultz tells 4 In Your Corner her daughter was picking up a friend at the school, when a student confronted her and a fight broke out. Her daughter suffered serious swelling in her face and injuries to her jaw.
Now the mom wants to take legal action against the school district. Schultz claims she informed the school about issues between the two girls in the past, and nothing was done. She believes had the school acted sooner, the fight would have been avoided. "I have retained an attorney," she said. "I don't think my daughter would have been assaulted if they had done something the first time I called, or even the second time."

The Lee County School District sent 4 In Your Corner the following statement:
"Our understanding is that a female (not an ICHS student) came onto campus and participated in a fight with an ICHS student. The SRO and School Administration immediately responded to break up the fight and the girl left campus. The ICHS student who participated was disciplined per the student code of conduct."
