CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- The man believed to be responsible for two dozen home burglaries throughout Charlotte County has been arrested.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Blake Guild on Wednesday after searching him for four hours in neighborhoods and wooded areas near Grayton Terrace.
Investigators say they were able to connect Guild to the crimes thanks to home surveillance systems.
He’s facing 64 charges, ranging from Grand Theft to Armed Burglary over the course of a five-week long crime spree.
Sheriff Bill Prummell released the following statement:
“The citizens of Charlotte County can rest a little easier now that another habitual offender has been taken off the street. I want to commend my staff for their hard work and dedication in their relentless pursuit of Mr. Guild in bringing justice to those who were victimized by him. I would also like to thank our citizens for staying vigilant and providing tips to help locate Guild. This is a prime example of how an individual’s substance abuse can effect so many."
