PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Several rescue crews are on the scene of a 7-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at the U.S. 17 exit in Punta Gorda.
The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. near mile marker 164.
According to Charlotte County Fire & EMS, two people were injured but refused treatment. Vehicle damages appear to be minor, but traffic is backing up along the Peace River Bridge.
Drivers should use caution in the area and may want to consider crossing the river on U.S. 41 if possible until the scene clears.
