Police have arrested three people for the murder of Zachary Holmes who was shot and killed at the Waterford Apartment complex Thursday night, the Fort Myers Police Department said.
20-year-old Ronald Eugene Ashley III, 20-year-old Steven Williams and 18-year-old Jacques Brown JR. all face murder charges.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the Waterford Apartments on Central Avenue and Carrel Road.
A witness told Fox 4 that a woman screamed that her boyfriend had been shot. "She came out hysterical, you know saying 'my friend, my friend, my friend, I was just talking to him, and he just got shot now'. And then when she was saying that, the ambulance was rolling out with the light and sirens."
Holmes died from his injuries at the hospital. He was only 21-years-old.
