LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers arrested a Bonita Springs man Sunday after a serious crash while fleeing troopers.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Mark Medina was observed driving 93 miles per hour on southbound I-75 near Alico Road.  Troopers attempted to pull him over, but Medina did not stop.

Instead, Medina continued driving to the Corkscrew Road exit, where troopers say he tried to make a right turn onto Corkscrew Road.  However, due to his high speed, his vehicle crossed the westbound lanes and the median and collided with an eastbound pickup truck.

Medina began fleeing on foot but was apprehended quickly by troopers.

He was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail on fleeing and eluding, drug charges and gun charges.

There's no word on the condition of the pickup truck's driver.
