The Collier County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death in East Naples as suspicious, a Sheriff's Office lieutenant said.
According to the lieutenant, a man in his thirties called 911 at 9:22 p.m. Sunday, and said his mother was bleeding at a home in the Sunny Acres mobile home park in the 6300 block of Radio Road. He also said that she tried to kill him.
When deputies responded to the home, they found a woman in her fifties dead, and recovered a knife at the scene.
Deputies have not released the cause of death, but say that it is not a suicide. The woman's son has been detained for questioning. Investigators were in the process of trying to obtain a search warrant for the home late Sunday.
