TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Early voting ahead of Florida's primary election is about to get underway.
Twenty-four counties will open up polling places on Monday for early voting, including several large counties such as Duval, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, and Orange counties. Other counties will start up in the coming week.
Voters in Charlotte and Hendry counties can begin voting Monday, while Lee, Collier, and Glades counties begin on Saturday.
Florida's primary election is Aug. 30.
The top races are the Democratic and Republican primaries for U.S. Senate. Voters will also be asked to vote on a constitutional amendment that would exempt solar panels and other types of renewable energy devices from property taxes.
Early voting must begin 10 days before election day, but election supervisors can add a handful of extra days. Early voting must be available at least eight hours a day.
