Hi Southwest Florida viewers!
My name is Samantha, but most people call me Sam. I joined the Fox 4 family in March 2016 as a multi-media journalist, and I have been loving it!
I am no stranger to Florida’s crazy weather and breathtaking beaches. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, in a colorful Latin household, so, sí, se habla español! My roots are in Ecuador, where much of my family remains. I would love to be a voice for the Latino community here in Southwest Florida, so you ever have a story idea, shoot me an email.
Before Fox 4, I was a digital producer at Miami’s Fox-affiliated station, WSVN-TV. I’m a proud graduate of the University of Florida (GO GATORS!!), where I earned a B.S. in Telecommunications-News and a certificate in International Relations. I am a total news nerd, political junkie and free speech advocate.
When I’m not reading/watching/reporting news, I love to travel, hike or do anything outdoors, go to concerts, oh--and EAT. If you have any recommendations on restaurants or outdoor activities, I’d love to hear them! I cannot wait to get to know the Southwest Florida community. I am in this business because my passion is connecting with people.
