CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — The drivers of two vehicles were killed in a collision that happened Monday night on US 41 in Charlotte County.
Florida Highway Patrol says the 46-year-old North Port man and the 31-year-old Punta Gorda man crashed at the intersection of Tamiami Trail and Zemel Rd. just after 8:30 p.m.
The North Port man's pickup truck landed on the median and northbound left lane of US 41 after impact. the Punta Gorda man's sedan came to rest on the northbound right lane.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
FHP says the crash remains under investigation.
