Law enforcement activity causes slowdowns on SB 41 bridge

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Traffic on the Southbound US 41 bridge is back to normal, several hours after a death investigation began, causing a heavy law enforcement presence.

Charlotte County Sheriff's Office confirms a Major Crimes Unit was called to the bridge area around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials confirmed a death investigation was underway, and later told Fox 4 that no foul play is suspected.

Traffic was reduced to a single lane in the southbound direction while the investigation was being conducted.
