CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Charlotte County Fire and EMS are asking the Sands at Placida community to please be patient with the smoke.

They encourage the community to call if they see flames and report the location of the fire.

First responders want to remind people to have a go-kit ready to go. All southwest Florida residents should already have a kit in place for hurricane season.
