$1 million lottery scratch-off ticket purchased in Broward County

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A Broward County man has claimed his $1 million prize from a lucky Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket.

According to the Florida Lottery, 52-year-old Michael Becker purchased a $20 Monopoly Jackpot ticket at a Publix on S. Flamingo Road in Plantation.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $715,000.

Scratch-off games generated more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund in fiscal year 2017-18, comprising approximately 69% of ticket sales.
