LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Fort Myers man recently made a lucky purchase at a local RaceTrac station; one that earned him a $1 million jackpot.

39-year-old David Jones purchased the winning Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off ticket at the store located on Colonial Boulevard at Winkler Avenue.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $745,000.00.

The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $33 billion to education and sending more than 775,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
