FORT MYERS, Fla. — To celebrate Black History Month, Fox 4 is recognizing some of the most influential African Americans in Southwest Florida History.
Larry Hart was born and raised in Fort Myers and spent nearly two decades with force before his historic appointment.
Hart was named Chief of the Fort Myers Police Department in 1995.
He would become the First Black Chief in the 110-year history of the Fort Myers Police Department.
