New "Civil Rights Movement to Black Lives Matter" exhibit in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — FORT MYERS, Fla -- Lee County Black History Society has a new exhibit on display for Black History Month.

Titled “A Continuum.. Civil rights Movement to Black Lives Matter,” the exhibit spans two main spaces within the museum.

The museum hallway chronicles historical moments during the Civil Rights Movement, starting with the Civil Rights Act of 1957. From the hallway, it then takes you to a second room which is dedicated to Black Lives Matter.

The museum is currently closed because of COVID-19 safety protocol. The exhibit will be available to the community virtually on the Lee County Black History Society social media pages, including its Instagram and Facebook pages. The first video will be posted Thursday.
