5 Things to do this Weekend September 29th to October 1st in Southwest Florida

This is the weekend for the music lovers in Southwest Florida.

There will be jazz concerts, music festivals at the beach, as well as fall festivals, comedy shows and much more. These will be some of the activities that will be part of this weekend's events and things to do in SFWL.


Friday the 29th

Cure for the Common Comedy

FORT MYERS -  The Second City presents “Cure for the Common Comedy” Get ready to laugh with The Second City! Chicago’s legendary sketch and improvisation comedy theater that incubated stars like Jim Belushi and Tina Fey brings. Spend a gut busting evening–or two–with The Second City! The event will be held at The Sidney & Berne Art Center

Event time: Friday and Saturday 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Island Hopper Songwriter Fest

FORT MYERS BEACH- If you haven't being able to enjoy this fest yet, you will still have time to do so this weekend at Fort Myers Beach. There will be performances at places like DiamondHead at Cabanas, Sunset Beach Tropical Grill, Pierside Grill and Blowfish Bar, Yucatan Beach Stand, Matanzas on the Bay, Nervous Nellie's, The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina and The Pincher's Crab Shack.

Saturday the 30th 

Friendly Forest Fall Festival

FORT MYERS - The Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium will be holding a Friendly Forest Fall Festival complete with a decorated nature hike, arts and crafts, planetarium and animal shows. This is a fun event for all ages.

Event time: Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

National Estuaries Day at Rookery Bay

NAPLES - Join Rookery Bay for their annual celebration of the 29 estuarine research reserves around the nation. This annual event includes staff-narrated boat tours (bus transportation provided to the boat), introductory 30-minute kayaking trips and stand-up paddleboarding demos on Henderson Creek, Estuary Encounter interactive marine life exhibit, kids' games and crafts, behind-the-scenes tours of the science labs and films.This is a free admission event.

Summer Jazz Concert, "Late Night Bass"

NAPLES - The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club rescheduled the Summer Jazz concert featuring Late Night Brass to Saturday, September 30th! It will take place on the Watkins Lawn at The Naples Beach Hotel. This is a free event.
