The 81st Annual Sanibel Shell Festival begins March 1st, with shell collectors, artists and enthusiats from all over the world coming together for a three day event.
According to the festival's website, shell collecting is the second largest collecting hobby in the world. Only stamp collectors outnumber shell collectors.
Located at the Sanibel Community House at 2173 Periwinkle Way, you can observe and learn about live seashells, enjoy free shell crafting demonstrations, see extensive collections of shells from all around the world, meet artists who use shells as their medium and more.
