For many people, sipping on a cup of joe is part of the morning routine. Several shops are doing something special for java lovers on International Coffee Day!
Bennett's in downtown Fort Myers is offering some of their most popular brews for free until 10 AM. Owner, Bob Bennett, says, "One of the nicest things about international coffee day is that you get to celebrate different coffees and that's what we're doing. Two great specials. One from Ethiopia, one from Sumatra." Coffee connoisseurs have been going to Bennett's since 2008. Bennett believes, "They keep coming back for fresh roasted coffee, and they keep coming back for our special doughnuts that we make from scratch by hand every day." Workers roast small batches of beans every day. Bennett adds, "Whether it's roasted fresh, or it always gotta be brewed fresh. you always have to grind your beans before you have to brew it. that's what Bennett's is all about."
Coffee is also an experience. "There's something comforting about a coffee shop in general. You come in, you bring your computer, your Ipad, your book, your friends. you meet people here. It's a nice, relaxing, comfortable atmosphere and a place where you feel like you're at home, and that's what's most important."
