The Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Gardens opened October 20th in Punta Gorda and offers a mix of several different types of gardens and contemporary art.
These waterfront gardens feature more than 3, 500 planted botanicals along with interpretive art with a total of 11 sculptures.
Beginning plans for the property back in 2006, Roger and Linda Tetrault and the Roger and Linda Tetrault Family Foundation continue to fund the gardens to expand to 27 acres total.
11 acres are developed now, including the Garden Community Center, with food and a visiting exhibit.
They're location at 5800 Riverside Drive in Punta Gorda and are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for students in high school and children under the age of 5 are free. Annual membership discounts are also available.
