LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno explains "Operation Narco Navida" during a press conference on Thursday.

Last month the U.S. Postal Inspector alerted Lee County Sheriff's Office about suspicious packages coming into the county from Puerto Rico.

The narcotics unit along with special operations investigated and discovered where the packages were, where they were going, and who it was going to.

Detective determined after putting all the pieces together that a large shipment of drugs was making its way into the county.

After surveillance deputies arrested two suspects Roberto Navarro Rivera and Anibal Pagan on drug trafficking charges.

Inside the packages, deputies discovered large amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, and large amounts of money totaling well over a million dollars.

Sheriff Marceno says there are several cases being worked on in Lee County.

Investigators say these cases will lead to several future arrests.
