Mahmoud Bennett is a Community Correspondent with Fox 4 covering Collier County. He joined the team in October 2023.
Originally from Chicago, Mahmoud moved to Southeast Asia and spent much of his youth there before returning to the U.S. and settling in the Sunshine State with a fresh perspective.
His passion for politics led him to begin his journalism career in 2021 as a digital producer and reporter in Omaha, Nebraska, where he covered national stories, including the Russia-Ukraine war, key Supreme Court decisions, and culture war issues.
After two years in Nebraska, Mahmoud returned to Florida to focus on local issues. He is passionate about government accountability, cultural exchange, and sharing the stories of people working to improve their communities.
On top of reporting, Mahmoud enjoys photography and traveling with his wife. He has visited every continent except Africa and hopes to make the trip one day.
