TAMPA, Fla. — Seven Seas International USA of St. Petersburg is recalling its 4 oz Biltmore Smoked Sockeye Salmon because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria, according to the FDA.
The salmon was only distributed in Florida by Publix stores, according to the recall.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The product can be identified by its production code, which is a four digit code printed on the clear vacuum bag. Only products with Production Code 41CM and a sell by date of May 23 2019 are subject to this recall, all other production codes are not part of this recall. The product carries the following UPC code: 007-36211-88774.
The FDA says no illnesses have been reported from the product.
The recall was the result of a routine sampling program by the Florida Department of Agriculture, which revealed that some of the finished product samples tested positive for the bacteria.
Publix Customers who have purchased this product are being advised not to consume it and return it to the store where it was originally purchased for a full refund.
