NAPLES, Fla. — A 69-year-old Naples man was killed Wednesday morning after he was struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 11 a.m. as the man was riding east on the sidewalk along U.S. 41. FHP said he attempted to cross Peter’s Avenue near a crosswalk when a pickup truck hit him.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt.
FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
