2012 murder suspected expected to accept plea

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The man accused in a deadly crime spree in Lee County back in 2012 is expected to accept a plea deal.

Authorities say 33-year-old Antonio Thomas went on a nine-day crime spree, attacking several women, killing another, while kidnapping and raping teenage girl.

He's facing a litany of charges, including battery, sexual assault, and second-degree murder.

The state was seeking a death penalty in connection with Thomas' murder charge, but that sentence is unlikely now that Thomas is expected to enter a plea.
