CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Exactly 26 years later, the search is still very much alive for the person who brutally murder a Cape Coral mother's daughter and roommate.
11-year-old Robin Cornell and 32-year-old Lisa Story were raped and killed inside their apartment on SE 12th Avenue on May 10th, 1990. Detectives say the mother had just returned home from a night with her boyfriend when she found both victims on the floor.
Police later found DNA from the person responsible for these murders, but they haven't been able to match it.
Fox 4 spoke with Lisa's mother around this time a few years ago about the case. "I knew she wasn't alive, but it was very confusing because I couldn't even sort out what had happened...what had gone wrong," said Jan Cornell. "He took so much from them, and so much from everyone who loved them."
Police have interviewed hundreds of people, comparing their DNA, but no match has ever been found.
