Fox 4 In Your Corner got results for a Fort Myers cooling company, who were concerned about what they said was an inconsistent trash pick-up service from Waste Pro. The delays have caused frequent build-ups of trash on the company's property.
"It used to be, they were there within the same hour every week. It was never a problem," said Ron Zajack, owner and president of Coastal Cooling, Inc. "But in the last three months, before the hurricane even, it was getting to be bad."
Zajack's employees have been using a forklift to mash down the trash in their dumpster to be able to fit more, but it's extra work that Zajack said shouldn't be necessary.
"I have to stack it up and move it around because it's in our way," he said.
Zajack has tried calling Waste Pro numerous times to find out what's going on.
"I never have been able to talk to a person," he said.
When Fox 4 reached out to Waste Pro on Wednesday afternoon, we were transferred to the voicemail of a media representative, with whom we left a message. But Zajack called us not long afterwards to say that a Waste Pro truck arrived to haul away three dumpster-loads of trash.
