Republican candidates pick up big endorsements

MIAMI, Fla. -- Just days before the Florida primary, two Republican presidential candidates picked up key endorsement that could help swing voters their way.

At Thursday night's debate Donald Trump announced that Ben Carson will be endorsing him.  It was unexpected news coming out of the Republican Party.

"Little bit unusual that Carson, who was the most civilized in terms of his language in this whole election campaign, would suddenly join hands with the person who has used the less civilized, somewhat vulgar at times, language,"  said political expert Susan MacManus from the University of South Florida.

Meanwhile, former Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina is throwing her vote toward Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, despite seeing her own name on the ballot.  "I check the box for Ted Cruz. And once I've done that in the privacy of the ballot box, it seems logical to share my decision with others," said Fiorina.

She says he's the only guy who can beat out Trump for the nomination, and then Hillary Clinton for the oval office.

And despite buzz predicting that Florida governor Rick Scott will throw his support to Donald Trump, he's staying mum on who he's voting for this Tuesday.  "I trust the voters. If you remember back in 2010, I was the business person, never run for office outsider. People in Washington call me asking me to get other race. I trust of the voters I think the right thing to do the trust the voters this time."
