FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police have arrested 4 women and charged them with prostitution after a sting operation.
Investigators say they posted escort services ads on a website called Backpage.com. The arrest report says two of the women listed their address at a Fort Myers house but the owner of the property had a different story.
"No nobody should be living here. Why? What's going on with this woman? said Evan.
The owner of the property showed us the inside of the residency to prove it was not being occupied. Piles of construction supplies lay scattered on the floor as a sign of the ongoing renovation.
He says at least one of the women has stopped by the home before to speak to the guy he hired to remodel the place. "I don't know why she would list this place as her address. I don't promote prostitution so she obviously made a big mistake," said Evan.
A big mistake he does not want to see repeated and he made it clear to the remodeler.
"I'll make sure she never comes around again, but again once I'm gone I can't control what one of my workers do,” said Evan.
