5-year-old among five injured in Lehigh crash

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two people are facing serious injuries after a crash in Lehigh Acres Sunday night.

It happened at the intersection of Lee Boulevard and Sunniland Boulevard shortly before 8:30pm. 

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a minivan turned in front of a Honda Accord while trying to get onto Sunniland Boulevard.

The van contained two adults and three children, of which a 5-year-old boy was seriously injured in the crash.  Three others suffered minor injuries.

A passenger in the Accord, 22-year-old Dayra Figueroa of Lehigh Acres, suffered critical injuries.

Charges are pending this morning.
