Ammunition causes concern in Bonita Springs fire

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Authorities are now trying to figure out what caused a Bonita Springs home to go up in flames Tuesday, causing ammunition inside to explode and possibly putting lives at risk.

It all happened Tuesday morning at a home on Melanie Lane.

Firefighters with Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue were sifting through thick smoke as they put out the flames.

Meanwhile, Lee County deputies were called in to investigate after crews found guns and ammo, which actually go off because of the heat from those flames.
