Arraignment delayed for man arrested in deaths

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The arraignment of a Lee County father who is charged in connection with the killings of his family in Iona Lakes has been continued until next week.

27-year-old Patrick Carlopoli is charged with second-degree murder for the death of his girlfriend, 37-year-old Tammy Modlin, and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the deaths of their two daughters.

Their bodies were found in January after Carlopoli called 911.

Prosecutors say the killings were part of a murder-suicide plot, but Carlopoli backed out the plan at the last minute.

He's due back in court February 29th.
