CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Southwest Floridians were showing support Friday night for the families of the victims in the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting that killed 49 people and injured 53.

Dolphin Key Resort in Cape Coral held a fundraiser in which all proceeds raised from food and drink sales went toward the One Orlando Fund.  The resort was also holding raffles and silent auctions.

Organizers say it's important to allow for some healing in our community too.  "It felt really good to help, help the community and let them know that just because they are on the other coast or we're in Florida and we're far away, we can still help make a difference and still give our time and our money for such a great cause," said employee Carmen Forrester.

The fundraiser also featured  live entertainment, with much success.  Management there tells Fox 4 that over $10,000 was raised during the event.
