CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police say a Cape Coral domestic disturbance turn horribly violent Tuesday when they say a man tried to kill his stepfather.
According to Cape Coral Police, officers responded to the 1000 block of SW 15th Place around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday about a domestic disturbance.
Arriving officers found 31-year-old Derek Hartsfield standing in the residence, along with his stepfather, who had a large knife protruding from his head. Hartsfield had blood on his hands and forearms.
Hartsfield was placed under arrest and charged with attempted homicide. He was transported to the Lee County Jail.
