EAST NAPLES, Fla. -- Several vehicle burglaries in East Naples were reported Monday on Leawood Circle, inside the Leawood Lakes neighborhood. Fox 4 spoke with one man who got good surveillance images of one of the thieves.

Leawood Lakes resident Steven Liries said thieves got away with his sister's Coach purse containing over $100, plus debit and credit cards when they got into her unlocked car around 1:30 a.m. His surveillance camera caught the whole thing on video.

"As soon as she said her purse was gone out of her car, I then went and checked the videotapes and saw what happened," Liries said.

The video shows two young males riding past the house on bicycles. But they doubled back, first trying to open the doors of cars parked across the street.

"Then they come over here and get this door open," Liries said.

The video shows one of the brazen burglars taking his time as he rummages through the items in the car, before exiting with the purse containing money and credit cards.

Liries said the thief must have known the camera was recording him.

"You can see the red LED lights on, so they just didn't care," he said. "You can see them looking right at the camera as they were walking away...didn't faze them a bit."

In addition to the surveillance images, Liries hopes investigators can use fingerprints that the crook may have left behind to identify him.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office has not reported an arrest made in the case.
