CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.-- Charlotte County Sheriff investigating a shooting off of South Twin Lakes Drive in Punta Gorda.

"This area is kind of quiet but sometimes it gets a little rowdy," said Pam McWilliams, as she was driving through the neighborhood.

Charlotte County deputies and a forensics team looking into an auto deal gone wrong. The seller went to the back of the agreed upon address only to find a man pointing a gun at him. The gunman demanded money. The victim telling police the man fired two to three rounds at him before he took off in a blue Sedan.

Neighbors are shocked to learn why there was such a police presence on their block.

"I was thinking about selling my car too, but anything happens out here," said Tony Steinmetz, who lives a few houses down.

Steinmetz's Audi is for sale, but he will use this as a lesson to avoid this scenario from happening to him. However, potential car sellers weren't the only ones shaken by the shooting.

"What if kids are outside? Bullets travel," said McWilliams, with her grandchildren in the back of her minivan.

She says in this neighborhood surrounded by woods, people occasionally take target practice. But the difference is people aren't the targets.

"A lot of times there are shots fired you know people shooting up in the air for birthdays, 4th of July, New Years," said McWilliams.

The grandmother was happy to hear there were no injuries this time around, but with her grandchildren in the back of her van, she still worries stray bullets might find her loved ones.

"Scary, fearful, I'm afraid for these girls because they are my life, they are my grand daughters," she said.

Charlotte County Sheriffs Office describe the suspect as a 6 foot tall male in his twenties to thirties and weighs about 175 pounds. He rode off in a blue sedan. If you have any information you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
