CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police are investigating a serious injury crash on Del Prado Boulevard involving a bicyclist.
The crash involving a car and bicyclist happened at 7:53 a.m. just south of the intersection of Del Prado and Viscaya Parkway.
According to police, the victim was a male in his 30's, and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. He was attempting to cross Del Prado when he was hit by a newer-model Dodge Dart and smashed into the windshield.
Southbound Del Prado is closed, and there are delays on northbound Del Prado.
Drivers are urges to seek an alternate route through at least 11 a.m.
