A chef at an exclusive Naples restaurant claims he was the victim of battery while visiting a pub on 5th Avenue South. The incident happened Sunday around 2 a.m. at Paddy Murphy's Irish Pub. Jason Goddard, a chef at Sea Salt on Third Street South, claims that security guard Ronald Baldwin punched and choked him.

Two Naples Police officers who were on patrol were in front of the pub when they reported hearing a banging noise come from inside. They then heard Baldwin say "he's all yours!" He had just removed Goddard from the bar, after Goddard reportedly refused to leave.

According to the police report, Goddard approached the officers and told them Baldwin had punched and choked him, and complained of pain in his shoulder. The officers called an ambulance, and told Goddard that because they believed he was intoxicated, a sworn statement wouldn't be taken just yet.

They did get one from Baldwin, who said that when he tried to get Goddard to leave the pub, the chef grabbed Baldwin's wrist firmly. He said he then threw Goddard against the wall and out the front door.

When Goddard arrived at the Naples Police station on Wednesday, he said Baldwin attacked him, and that he wanted to press charges.
