MARCO ISLAND, Fla. -- An Illinois toddler is recovering at a Naples hospital after a near drowning Wednesday.
It happened at a rental home in the 400 block of Parkhouse Court on Marco Island.
According to Marco Island Police, rescue units were called to the house just before 5pm. Crews arrived to find family members assisting an 18-month old boy who had been found in the home's pool.
The child was taken to Physician's Regional Hospital, then transfered to Naples Community Hospital.
The incident is under investigation by police and the Florida Department of Children and Families.
The family is visiting the area from Champaign, Illinois.
